Over the last few months, Alpha has been busy connecting with customers, fostering new relationships and educating on the quality services Alpha Analytical brings to the industry. We’ve attended conferences and trade shows, hosted webinars and events for professionals looking to build a career within environmental services.
In collaboration with the LSPA, Alpha Analytical invited young aspiring professionals to tour the Mansfield lab, learn about emerging contaminants such as Per- and Polyfluroalkyl Substances (PFAs) and network with the Alpha staff. Pictured left are LSPA members suited up for the lab tour. Jim Occhialini, Ralph Kocsis and Jim Todaro were the key speakers for the event and introduced their roles within the company and the quality Alpha provides. The Mansfield location focuses on sediment, tissue, and forensic petroleum analyses and houses the largest air testing laboratory on the East Coast. After a networking reception, an introduction of the staff, and a PFAS presentation by Jim Occhialini, guests donned lab coats and safety glasses and enjoyed a tour of Alpha’s labs with lab scientists Phil Bassignani, Andy Resendes, and Nate Sorrelle. Feedback was positive,“It was interesting to learn about the role Alpha has played in developing methods for testing emerging contaminants, the challenges in analyzing for PFAS, the technology Alpha has developed, and what the future of analytical methods for PFAS and other emerging contaminants may be.” Interested in having a lab tour? Alpha Analytical was excited to exhibit again at the PA Brownfields conference in October at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA. The Conference is planned in collaboration between the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP). Pictured left to right: Raymond Lees, Guy Sheets, and Eileen Snyder. With over 400 attendees, Alpha hosted a cocktail reception at Emeril's Chop House to bring together clients, fellow exhibitors and guests. We'll be back next year... details to come soon.
With continued success year to year, Alpha made its way back to Amherst, Massachusetts to attend the 34th Annual International Conference on Soils, Sediments, Water, and Energy, in Amherst MA, October 15-18, 2018. Jim Occhialini (pictured on the right) represented Alpha as one of the presenters in Workshop #3, Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS): The Latest Information. The large turnout was captivated by Jim’s presentation, "PFAS Laboratory Considerations" which focused on the analytical chemistry aspects of PFAS environmental characterization and remediation. Sales team representatives, Nancy Struzenski, Jeremy Thebodo and Joe Foley were also present at our booth connecting with clients and seeking out new opportunities. Did you miss us? Catch us next year October 21-24, 2019. Save the date!
A successful quarter of events for Alpha and very thankful for our customers, the new contacts made and the support from our staff.
