by Olivia Vaillant

A Roundup of Recent Events

The Alpha team has had a successful and busy past few months. We kicked off 2019 at the Battelle Sediments Conference in New Orleans, February 11-14th. Sales team members Ralph Kocsis, Eileen Snyder, Jim Occhialini, Dave Boring, and Paul Simms along with Marketing Director, Catherine Weber represented Alpha Analytical at this bi-yearly event. Monday evening kicked off the conference with a poster viewing reception where Alpha’s Jim Occhialini and colleague, Jake Bourdreau of Key Environmental debuted their poster on the Beneficial Reuse of Dredged Materials in the Mid-Atlantic Region: Laboratory Considerations and a Review of Significant Project. Their formal presentation followed on Tuesday, February 12th.

In celebration of the conference, Alpha hosted a networking dinner at a popular New Orleans establishment, Brennan’s restaurant. The evening was spent connecting with clients and colleagues over classic New Orleans fare. Get the inside scoop on the event below. After 3 successful days of exhibiting our Alpha team left New Orleans with new relationships, industry insights, and beignet filled bellies.

In March, Alpha Account Manager Steve Knollmeyer exhibited at the Geological Society of America Northeast meeting in Portland, ME, March 17-19, 2019. This year was the 54th annual meeting and Alpha has been a regular exhibitor each year.

Shortly following, Ralph Kocsis, Paul Simms and Dave Boring of our sales team set off to Baltimore, Maryland to exhibit at the Battelle Bioremediation Conference April 15-18th. They weren't the only ones busy in April! Eileen Snyder spent a week in Denver, Colorado attending the ASTM International Committee Week. Eileen received an ASTM Distinguished Service Award from Subcommittee E50.04. This award reflects her successful 3-year leadership of the task group which developed ASTM E3163 - 18 Standard Guide for Selection and Application of Analytical Methods and Procedures Used during Sediment Corrective Action.
